This is the second treatment out of two, and will be the last treatment for 2018

Aerial treatment by a low-flying helicopter is tentatively scheduled to begin May 22 to control a developing gypsy moth population in an area west of Bellevue, Iowa. The nearly 1,200 acre area will be treated with Btk (Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki), a biological insecticide which is approved for use on organic crops.

The timing of treatment is dependent on environmental conditions and insect development.

For the latest treatment schedule, please call the Iowa Gypsy Moth Hotline at 1-855-497-7966.
